Tarik Burton is a dedicated speaker with 8 years of experience serving in various ministries within the Los Angeles churches. Married for 6 years to his wife Jackie, Tarik is a proud father to his 3-year-old daughter, Kya, and 18-month-old son, Micah. Currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Religious Education with a focus on Missional Leadership, Tarik brings a wealth of knowledge and passion, reflecting his commitment to God’s mission. Have A Wonderful Presidents Day Weekend!
In 1879, the United States made George Washington's February 22nd birthday a federal holiday. Today, the third Monday in February is frequently called "Presidents' Day. The holiday had been celebrated on George Washington's actual birthday, February 22, for many years. Still, it was changed to the third Monday in February due to the Uniform Monday Holiday Act of 1968 (which would give federal workers a three-day weekend instead of always landing on the 22nd no matter what day of the week it landed on). Though some State and local jurisdictions and states may jointly honor Abraham Lincoln and George Washington and refer to the holiday as "Presidents' Day," the official Federal holiday is "Washington's Birthday." Many referred to it as Presidents Day to celebrate the "office of the presidency" as opposed to one specific person. We hope that if you get this day off, you get some time to relax and have some additional time to spend with family and friends! Whatever the reason is that we get the day off, we hope that you make the time to think about Jesus as you go and that you have a day full of gratitude for our leader, who is Jesus, and can experience the peace that he promises to those who follow Him.
