Congratulations Graduates!
We wanted to congratulate all the families and children who graduated high school, middle school, elementary school, and preschool! It is with great joy and pride that we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the families with children and young adults graduating from different life stages. We celebrate this significant milestone in the lives of our graduates. As they prepare to embark on the next chapter of their journeys, we take this moment to honor their dedication, hard work, and achievements! Graduation is a time of reflection, a moment to reflect on the years of studying, growth, and overcoming challenges. All of our graduates have experienced accomplishments of one kind or another, which are a testament to the graduate's personal determination and the support they have received from their families, friends, and the fellowship. To the families and friends who have supported these graduates throughout their academic pursuits, your love, guidance, and sacrifices have played an instrumental role in their achievements. As a fellowship, let us remember the teachings of Jesus and encourage them forward and be examples for them as we follow the guiding principles of Jesus in our personal and professional endeavors. To our graduates, know that God loves you and stands beside you, offering strength, encouragement, and support. As you embark on the next chapter of your life, we encourage you to continue seeking wisdom, love, and purpose. The SF Bay Fellowship celebrates with you, and we hope you take the skills, knowledge, and values you have gained through your education and faith journey and use them to make an impact in your communities and the lives of others. May God guide you, bless you abundantly, and lead you to a purpose, joy, and success-filled future. With sincere congratulations and blessings, |

A Category Four Typhoon Hits Guam - Our Sister Church in Guam Could Use Our Help
Dear brothers and sisters,
Nick Galang from our sister church in Oahu, Hawaii (the Oahu Church of Christ) informed us that a category four typhoon landed in Guam on May 24th, affecting many brothers and sisters in the Guam church and local community. He told us in an email; you can see the details below. Email From Nick -
Mawar made landfall as a Category 4 Typhoon late on May 24th on the northern tip of Guam, home to roughly 150,000 people, flipping cars, tearing off roofs, and leaving trees bare. There have been long lines for gas; officials estimate it will be four to six weeks before power is fully restored. Sadly, many in our congregation have family and friends directly impacted by this disaster. Members of our church have been in contact as data service and electricity availability have started to come back for them. I hopped on a Zoom call with Marvin Lucas (evangelist of the church in Guam), and he let me know that the church is safe and that the people are resilient. Yet, there are still many needs within and outside the church community.
As a community that strives to embody Jesus' love and hospitality, our faith teaches us to love, support, and extend our hand to those in need, especially in challenging times. Given the current situation, we have set up a Tithely donation link to enable donations for anyone who can give. This fund will help alleviate the burden experienced by families struggling with meeting their basic necessities, providing much-needed assistance to those unable to work and facing challenges with food procurement. Anything helps. There is a Tithely giving bucket titled "Guam Typhoon Aid" that we can give to, found here https://tithe.ly/give?c=625978. I believe God instilled the church as a medium to meet the needs of those who need it most. What we have is here today and gone tomorrow. Let's make the most of every opportunity to be good and do good. Thank you for your generosity and heart for our extended ohana in Guam. Please continue to keep the church in your thoughts and prayers.
- Nick Galang, Oahu Church of Christ
-----------------------------------------------------------
As a result, we ask for your prayers for our sisters and brothers in Guam. In addition, we are collecting a donation to send to the disciples in Guam as well. If you would like to contribute to this donation, you can do so by donating directly to them through their Tithely account, or you can do so by donating through the SF Bay Fellowship website (via the SF Bay Fellowship Tithely account). When you go to our website, go to the "Give" tab, then log into Tithely and donate by using the option to give to the "Missions" account. SF Bay Fellowship will donate all money given to the "Missions" account today through June 25th to our sisters and brothers in Guam.
Thanks so much for your love, support, and prayers. - Greg & Della, South Bay Fellowship Group For more infomation visit:

Strength In Weakness Podcast Called Home From Home: A Blog About The LGTBQ+ Community and JusticeEpisode 69: Biblical Justice and the LGBTQ Community (ft. Hashim Warren) As we discussed last week in our newsletter, June is Pride Month, and Guy Hammond, a disciple and former Toronto Church evangelist, has helped the LGBTQ+ community and those in the church who want to understand/learn more. He has written multiple books, started an organization called Strength In Weakness (a Christian organization focused on bridging the gap with the LGTBQ+ community), and has a documentary film about his life's work. Strength In Weakness also has a podcast called Home From Home. The podcast's cohosts are Topher and Thomas, and they dive head-first into questions about LGBTQ+ issues, church culture, and living authentically. They hope to create a safe place for honest conversations. In their latest episode, Episode 69, released on June 1, 2023, they welcome back Hashim Warren to discuss the intersection between biblical justice and the LGBTQ community, the hurts of injustice, and how we can respond as Christians. (This is part two of a two-part discussion about biblical justice.) Hashim Warren has a website called www.justiceyear.com, and he believes that biblical justice is "God's plan to restore broken peace and prosperity in the world by punishing oppressors and protecting the oppressed. God calls for his people to avoid participating in any injustice and devote themselves, like Jesus, to friendship, service, respect, and advocacy for the poor and vulnerable." He discusses how a single word or parable cannot define biblical justice, and doing justice requires commitment and humility. As a result, he created Justice Year, a year-long Bible study on justice. He hopes that by reading through the entire Bible with an eye toward justice, we can answer God's call to do justice as part of our Christian walk.
