Our Fun Time At The Arata Pumpkin Farm

Our Fun Time At The Arata Pumpkin Farm

We had our first Family Fun Event for the Fall!

We went to the Arata Pumpkin Farm in Half Moon Bay and had a lot of fun!

We all went through the hay maze as a team and made it out as a team in 26 minutes. We had our moments, and our patience was tested, but we did it! Next, we all went to the petting zoo; the little piglets were a favorite. Some of us did a train ride, and there was a hay ride and more. When you get to the farm, you have to pay for parking, but they give you a $10 credit for a pumpkin, so each family was able to grab a pumpkin on the way out too!

Overall it was a super fun outing, and the kiddos had a blast! Here is what some of them had to say:

"My favorite part of the family day at the pumpkin farm was the petting zoo because the animals were so cute!" - Cheyenne

“The petting zoo was my favorite part of the farm. I really want a pig now.” - Sydney

"My favorite part of the farm was the pumpkin because it kept me looking for the right path and I enjoy mazes." - Judah

If you didn't get a chance to come out and join us, and now you wish you had, you can still go and enjoy all of the fall festivities and fresh farm pumpkins at Arata Family Farm in Half Moon Bay. (Get there early, so you don't hit too much traffic.) The link to their website is below.

2023 HOPE worldwide National Youth Advisory Council Applications - Being Accepted Now!

2023 HOPE worldwide National Youth Advisory Council Applications - Being Accepted Now!

The application process has opened for 2023 - Deadline is November 18.

HOPE worldwide's National Youth Advisory Council (NYAC) allows U.S. and Canadian high school and college students to build essential leadership skills and use them selflessly. Participants study the essentials of servant leadership, receive one-on-one mentoring with staff and executive leaders, and help support their local communities with a wide array of ongoing, relationship-based passion projects.

The HOPE worldwide National Youth Advisory Council's mission is to provide vision, counsel, and creative solutions as servant leaders while engaging fellow youth volunteers in meaningful, ongoing, relationship-oriented service to specific communities.

The purpose of a position as a council member would be to capture and share the heart of Jesus through ministering to the hungry, the materially poor, the elderly, the sick, the disaster-struck, and the brokenhearted. In addition, each NYAC member is to unify youth to serve locally by designing fundraisers, service efforts, and mobilizing volunteers. Finally, members are to collaborate with local chapter leaders, ministry leaders, community partners, and youth volunteers to better serve and meet various significant needs respectfully and effectively.

Members serve a 1-year term and may apply for subsequent terms until aging out of the program. This position requires time and commitment. Please count the cost before applying to determine whether you are willing to meet the requirements. Members who do not continue to meet expectations may be asked to step down before the end of the term. All requirements are listed on the application, which you can see if you click the "Apply Now" button below.

There is also a list of qualifications. For example, all applicants must be disciples, in good standing in their church, be currently in college or high school, and more. To see all the qualifications, click the "Apply Now" button below.
