God loves YOU. Many of us know this, believe this, and even share this with others. But do we take the time on a regular basis to truly reflect on what this means? The God who created all of the colors and shapes of the trees and flowers, all of the textures and noises of animals all over the world, and the entire universe! The most powerful being EVER, loves YOU...... and not that he loves people in general, but YOU personally as a specific relationship that he is excited about and can't wait to engage with.

Even if you’ve done things that have hurt God or that you regret, He still loves YOU and wants to have a deep and intimate relationship with YOU.

Isaiah 54:10 Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

Proverbs 86:15 But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.

Ephesians 2:4-5 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved.

Many of us have searched the world for this type of love. Many of us are still trying to in different ways... but only God can provide this unconditional and infinite love, beyond what even the best of people are capable of.

So as we celebrate Valentine's Day this year, reflect on the love God has for YOU, first and foremost, and what a special gift you have received from Him. 

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

1 John 4:9-11This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Romans 8:37-39 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The community breakfast is a City Hope tradition in the Tenderloin.

Our volunteers will meet at 7:15am to distribute materials, get last minute instruction, and pray before we gather to receive direction from the City Hope staff. Roles include food prep and cooking, portioning food onto plates, taking orders, and distributing the meals to the clients and we should be done with volunteering by 10:30am.

Gloves, masks (required) and hand sanitizer will be available and social distancing will be practiced at all times.
