Welcome to the kingdom, Weston!
Weston was baptized on Sunday, September 1, at Aquatic Park Beach in San Francisco! It was a blessed and beautiful sunny day, as his parents and brothers and sisters gathered to celebrate and be in awe of God’s love. Afterwards, we had a fun ice cream party at Ghirardelli Square with friends. Weston is a senior in high school and is excited about his new faith and influencing his friends on campus. Greg and Della are so grateful to God for bestowing his salvation upon their son. Weston is the first teen to become a Christian in the South Bay Fellowship Group. “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.” 1 Peter 1: 3-9 Please be praying for Weston as he starts on his journey as a disciple of Christ! - Greg, South Bay Fellowship Group |
Korea's 35th Jubilee
Anne and I were married 38 years ago in the Berkeley Church of Christ (later called the San Francisco Church of Christ). At that time, the church was beginning plans for the mission team to Seoul, Korea, and Anne and I were excited to be part of that dream. Over the next few years the plans would shift, and we were asked to plant the church in Honolulu instead. Thanks to the great faith of many disciples and the financial sacrifice of the church in San Francisco, the Korea mission team was launched in 1989.
Because of our connection through our Pacific Southwest family of churches, Anne and I were grateful to be invited to be part of the 35th Jubilee of the Korean churches this past month. Rafael and Griselda Lua from the LA church were the keynote speakers for the weekend event. Hundreds of disciples traveled from all parts of Korea to attend the two-day conference. With the theme “Led by the Spirit” there was much singing, fellowship, encouragement and tears of joy during the weekend at the conference center.
Unfortunately for us, I tested positive for Covid the day before the start of Jubilee! After waiting 35 years and travelling half way around the world, we would be delayed a little longer from seeing the church! Fortunately, we were able to teach our class by Zoom for the families with special needs. And on the following Wednesday night we were able to meet with the church for their midweek service and speak to the church about “Lessons God is Teaching Us.”
Overall, our trip to Korea was amazing: The city of Seoul is unbelievably beautiful; the hospitality, food and culture are fantastic! But the highlight of the trip was getting to spend time with so many of the disciples and the ministry staff of the church. Their faith and love for God and their brothers and sisters around the world is evident. Anne and I felt instantly connected and part of their lives. The lessons God is teaching us here in the SF Bay Fellowship are right in line with what God is doing in their lives and in the church there. We encouraged them to pray for us here and to share the faith lessons that they learn along the way, and we will continue to do the same with them!

2024 Singles Conference Recap
Last week, 1800 of us gathered for an absolutely amazing singles retreat, worship, and spiritual growth event filled with the powerful presence of the Holy Spirit! We had a choice of around 40 different classes over three days, and we left feeling pumped and ready to be part of God's mission and spread His message. We had an unexpected blast when a group date turned into an awesome 12-couple hangout with sisters from Northern California getting to know Southern California brothers. We enjoyed a super fun Sip and Paint date and enjoyed a taco bar prepared by the sisters for an unforgettable group date. To cap it all off, all 1800 of us participated in an epic Y2K dance party. The entire experience was mind-blowing and left us feeling incredibly inspired and uplifted. We’re excited for our following Single’s Zoom Devotional on October 4th at 7:30 pm. If you are interested in attending, please get in touch with Diana in the Tri-Valley Fellowship group by clicking the button below. Let's keep the excitement going! Here is an instagram reel from the conference. Here is a short video of the dance party For more infomation visit:

Join RevivSF Season 2
Join Season 2 of RevivSF! What is RevivSF you may ask? Well, here is a quick description: Each team member sets their own goals to revive/stretch their love for God and their community! Each of us prays for everyone else on the team every day. We will meet with the team on Zoom to encourage and be encouraged, on 9/17 @ 7PM, 9/22 @ 5PM, 9/24 @ 7PM, 9/29@ 5PM and 10/1 @7PM. Then on 10/2 we will have a Team Dinner at Brock and Anne's house. During the first season earlier this year, most of our goals were about loving the people around us by meeting them, saying "hi" to them, or engaging in spiritual conversations with them. That can be the same this time -- or you can have goals for hospitality, having people for lunch or dinner, or having Bible studies with people. We will share our personal goals during our kick-off Zoom on Tuesday, 9/17. We will also talk about some "One-Scripture" Bible studies that we can do if you like. Whether you join this time or not, please pray that God uses it to revive our hearts and faith! If anyone is interested have them contact Brock by Sunday, 9/15 at Brock@sfbayfellowship.com |
